Lander County Animal Control
The Animal Control Section of the Lander County Sheriff’s Office provides services to all of Lander County and enforcement within the Animal Control Districts of Lander County. Although the Lander County facility is not designated as a “no kill facility”, we make every effort to find homes, foster families or rescues for all adoptable dogs.
Animal Control Districts include:
- Town Of Battle Mountain
- Town of Austin
- Town of Kingston
- Town of Gilman Springs
Lander County Ordinance Chapter 6.04 & 6.08 governs the control of certain types of animals. The Ordinances do not have any provisions for cats. Although the Lander County facility is not designated as a “no kill facility”, we make every effort to find homes, foster families or rescues for all adoptable dogs.
